Verizon & Susquahanna Art Museum 5G Pole

$5,000.00

The Susquehanna Art Museum had reached out to me to paint the 5G pole that had just been installed out front of their Museum. We go through a few months of planning. I showed up on the day of install with all my gear at that very moment a Verizon Representative showed up to do some routine maintenance on the pole.

To my surprise he stopped me. The mural was put on hold. I hear back a few weeks later and all the sudden Verizon and the museum are working together to make it happen. Now instead of painting it, it’s getting wrapped and there’s a whole campaign going on around it. Shirts, Press the whole, an exhibit the whole thang.

Two additional pieces of trivia!

1.)What I didn’t know the day of install was that the Verizon rep wanted to arrest me for vandalizing the pole and fine the museum. But they where able to come a middle ground because of the Museum’s Executive Director’s diplomacy (I love you Alice Anne!). They where able to come up with a campaign to feature a local artist (yours truly) . It was the first and only one of its kind as far as I’m aware. It was apparently really hard to install. I showed up on the day of the install and the people where really mean to me. But I had done so many murals and with it so many long grueling hours it felt so good to see other people installing my work.

2.) We where having a meeting to proof the design and they brought Disney into the conversation and how they had been showing my designs to them cause they where curious about it. They wanted some Colorful 5G poles down in Orlando so the rep was saying I’d be the person with first dibs on those projects. That woulda been a crazy path to go down and I don’t see how Disney wouldn’t have had a more qualified artist than me alas it felt like I really made it in that moment.
