Sheetz Coloring Book

$5,000.00

Yet another fun project. A friend of mine is the art director for a local news publication. A local Marketing Firm reached out to her to see if she knew anyone that had a Comedic vibrant illustrative art style. It was me! So I followed up with the firm and sure enough the client they where working for was Sheetz a big time east coast Gas Station if you haven’t heard of em.

I had to bid the job but I can’t remember what all I had to do. I probably had to do a sketch and propose a budget. The stars aligned and I won the bid. This was a really great opportunity for me as an illustrator. Not just because of the client. Usually when I work with clients they don’t fully know what they want and they don’t have a good way of explaining what they’re envisioning. They only know it when they see it. Some people are just hands off and want me to do whatever I want. But Sheetz knew exactly what they where looking for and I could tell their ability to visualize and execute the project was far beyond mine. I really had to work around the clock for this one and do multiple rounds of revisions to make it happen. but their precise focus and demand for excellence really challenged me to rise to the occasion.

I was going to Sheetz more than usual that summer cause I was hoping to get my hands on a copy of my coloring book. I reached out and apparently it was an internal project only. That’s the downside with these Corporate projects, they want it and they want it right and fast. But when it’s done they’re onto the next thing. C’est La Vie
